“Putting on the Ritz” at Rowan Lodge
Residents enjoyed Champagne Afternoon Tea at the Ritz from the comfort of their own home at Rowan Lodge.
Having received personal invites the week before, everyone dressed to the nines to attend the special afternoon tea. Live music entertained attendees while waitresses served the elegant and mouth-watering delights.
The talented care home chefs handmade a beautiful selection of special pastries, scones and sandwiches, catering to each of our residents’ dietary requirements.
The Nutrition and Hydration ambassador at Rowan Lodge is always trying new and fun ways to ensure residents enjoy their meals. Keeping residents interested in food is an important part of enhancing lives at the care home and the Ritz Club is only a small part of what the care home organises.
Local businesses, including the Light Touch, donated over £1,500 worth of equipment and time to transform the dining room into the Ritz. One resident said “I’ve never been to the Ritz but now feel like I have”.
Dan Binney, Registered Home Manager, says “it’s been an incredible experience for both residents and staff. I’m proud of our team here, who have gone the extra mile to make a memorable event for our residents”.
