Celebrating St Patrick’s Day at Rowan Lodge
To celebrate St Patrick’s day, residents at Rowan Lodge were delighted to welcome the dancers from the Boyle-O’Dowda Academy of Irish Dancing. Resident’s thoroughly enjoyed watching their routines while listening to the music. One resident said “That was such a treat to see them dance, their legs looked like elastic!”.
Sunlight shimmered off their costumes as they danced, creating beautiful light reflections around the room. A resident who is registered as blind commented “I’m so happy to have been there, I could even see the green costumes sparkling!”
After the wonderful performance, residents enjoyed Irish liquors and chocolates with their afternoon tea. Overall, it was a sparkly and special St Patrick’s day for everyone at Rowan Lodge. Thank you to everyone who participated.
