Kitchen Assistant (40 hours per week)

Based at Rowan Lodge, Crown Lane, Newnham, Basingstoke, RG27 9AN – a beautiful and modern family owned and managed care home with a CQC rating of “good” in all five areas.

Starting salary £8.50 per hour

Alternate weekend working will be required in this role.

Main Duties of our Kitchen Assistants; 

• To prepare food and cook in a hygienic manner.
• To be aware of the residents’ dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
• To hold a suitable food and hygiene certificate.
• To dispose of waste correctly.
• To ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable goods.
• To contribute in the serving of food.
• To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.

Skills and Experience of our Kitchen Assistants;

• Previous experience working within a kitchen environment
• High level of written and spoken English
