We embraced the Christmas spirit with arts and crafts, a magical evening drive to see local Christmas lights, and decorating one of our trees. Residents enjoyed an outdoor Christmas market featuring handmade crafts, a tombola, mince pies, tasty Bratwurst hot dogs, and mulled wine. The festivities concluded with a joyful Countdown to Christmas musical performance by Mini Concerts.
Brian and John also had a special outing – a studio tour with Steve at Frimley Park Hospital Radio!
Our Holly Jolly Christmas Fete transformed the home into a winter wonderland! Highlights included festive gift stalls, Santa’s Grotto, Rudolph’s Big Red Raffle, Ying’s delicious homemade dips, and a lively Countdown to Christmas show from Mini Concerts. Residents also enjoyed creative activities like knitting, flower arranging, baking a traditional yule log, and making bird feeders from orange halves and seeds for the garden.
Residents, staff, and talented bakers from across our homes came together for Forest Care’s Christmas Cake Competition, hosted at Elm Lodge. A huge thank you to all participants for their incredible cakes – and congratulations to Cedar Lodge, this year’s winner!
We celebrated the season with a delicious festive lunch and a wonderful performance by the Royal British Legion Band alongside our very own Oak Choir!
Oak Lodge also marked its 30th anniversary in style, with bubbly, cake, and a fantastic show from The Cambillies.
Rowan Lodge’s Winter Fayre was a delightful afternoon filled with craft stalls, freshly baked cakes, tombola, raffle prizes, and a nostalgic Christmas performance by the Royal British Legion Band. Other memorable events included a silent disco to honour Elvis Presley’s 90th birthday and a heartwarming Let’s Sing session designed to spark memories through music for residents living with dementia.
