Born in 1934, Millie’s life has been rich and varied, from hotel management apprentice to 43 years with Huntley & Palmers, to travelling Europe as a Legal Administration Controller. At 63 she launched into event management, organising global conferences and VIP functions. She continues working in the industry today, even while at Elm Lodge.
Senior Carer and Activity Coordinator Maria Larkin, a Surrey Care Awards finalist, is admired for her family‑centred approach inspired by her grandparents. Creative and energetic, she cooks, bakes, crafts and leads popular resident workshops. Outside work she stays active, supports her children’s sports, and enjoys travel and family time. Her proudest moments include earning her nursing degree, becoming a mum, and being named a Carer of the Year finalist.
Cedar Lodge has proudly been crowned ‘Care Home of the Year’, while Senior Carer & Activity Coordinator Maria Larkin and Holly Lodge’s Domestic Team were celebrated as finalists at the Surrey Care Awards 2025. Congratulations to all for your commitment and excellence in care!
