Providing well-rounded care is important to us, we endeavour to look after residents’ physical and medical needs, as well as their social, mental and emotional well-being. Although physiotherapy, chiropody, massage therapy and hairdressing are not regulatory requirements, we believe they form an integral part of our resident’s care and therefore are provided at no additional cost.
At Forest Care, we encourage our residents to lead an active and healthy lifestyle and offer regular group exercises and a clinic where residents can have a one-to-one consultation with a physiotherapist. Physiotherapy helps to maintain mobility and prevent falls. We also train our staff in best movement practices.
Every home has a visiting chiropodist who attends to any treatment our residents require. This is an important part of our well-rounded care. Additional charges may apply for specialist nail/feet treatments.
Our hairdressing services within our on-site hair salons are included in our weekly fees. Additional charges apply for specialist treatments, such as perms and colouring.
As a dedicated holistic therapist at Forest Care, Ying Wiseman brings a wealth of expertise to our five care homes. Her extensive training spans a variety of therapeutic disciplines, including Acupuncture, Acupressure Massage, Thai Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Facial Spa Treatments, Reflexology, Reiki, and the Spinal Flow Technique. Ying is passionate about supporting the overall wellbeing of our residents through personalised, therapeutic care that helps improve circulation, stimulate muscles, reduce tension, and ease pain.
Each home has its own wheelchair-friendly mobility vehicle to transport small groups of residents for day trips out. Whether it’s a visit to a nearby attraction, an afternoon tea at a local hotel or a longer trip to the seaside, we understand the importance of spending quality time with residents.
