Head of Care

We are looking for an experienced Head of Care to be based at our beautiful Care Home – Holly Lodge, St Catherine’s Road, Frimley Green, Camberley, Surrey GU16 9NP – a care home with a CQC rating of “good” in all five areas. These accolades are only achieved through the teamwork of like-minded individuals passionate about delivering person-centered care. Our Care/Nursing staff to resident ratio is higher than the national average and nearly 50% of our team have been with us for over 5 years.

Holly Lodge is a 60-bedded care home providing nursing, residential and dementia care. As Head of Care, you will be required to work closely with the Registered Manager, taking on leadership duties in their absence, in helping to deliver the best possible care standards across the home and ensuring our residents enjoy the best possible quality of life. You will need to lead by example and monitor standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice and checking regulatory compliance, using your professional judgement to make critical clinical decisions and evolve person-centred care plans to make sure every residents’ needs are met.

You will need be a Registered Nurse (RN/RMN) with current NMC registration and ideally with a training/mentoring/supervision qualification. Experience in helping residents with different health needs is essential, along with a successful track record in managing clinical risk assessments and a strong knowledge of clinical policy frameworks, medication management and care planning. You will need to be compassionate, resilient and determined to deliver person-centred quality care.”

Competitive salary plus discretional bonus scheme on completion of probationary period. This is a full-time role of 42 hours per week.

Purpose of Position

  • To provide high quality nursing care and to assist in identifying and addressing the health and social care needs of all the home’s residents.
  • To support the Registered Manager in all aspects of the home’s management, including taking temporary complete charge during the Registered Manager’s absence.
  • To assume responsibility for the nursing services and clinical governance within the home

Skills and Experience of our Head of Care:-

  • Registered Nurse (RN/RMN) with current NMC registration
  • Experience with medication management and care planning
  • Experience with training/mentoring/supervising a large team
  • Have a strong knowledge of clinical policy frameworks
  • Experience in managing clinical risk assessments
  • Be compassionate and caring
  • High level of written and spoken English
