In 2023, Cedar Lodge’s Handyman David Fielding won the ‘Overall Winner’ award at the Care Home Heroes Awards 2023 organised by Caring Times. In 2022, Cedar Lodge were Finalists in three categories at the Surrey Care Awards; Nursing Home of the Year , Activities Team of the Year, and Carer of the Year (Aruna Gurung), with David Fielding winning the award for ‘Unsung Hero’.

Chef Bhanu Morampudi won Care Chef of the Year and Nenita Jopson was a Finalist for Care Home Manager of the Year at the National Care Awards 2021. Also in 2021, Cedar Lodge came Runner-up for South Care Home of the Year and was nominated for Catering Team of the Year and Quality in Housekeeping at the Caring UK Awards.

In 2019, Cedar Lodge were Finalists in three categories at the Surrey Care Awards: Care Team of the Year, Care Home Manager of the Year, (Nenita Jopson) and Long Service Award (Wendy Watmore), with Nenita Jopson winning Frontline Leader of the Year. Cedar Lodge also won Activities Team of the Year at the Frimley System South CCG 2019 Awards, and came Runner-up for Management Team of the Year and Finalist for Activities Team of the Year at the Caring UK Awards.

Nenita Jopson - Home Manager

Nenita qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1990 in her native Philippines. She has worked all over the world, including nursing in hospitals in Saudi Arabia and Singapore, before moving to the UK in 2004. She began working at Forest Care as a Nurse and then progressing to Clinical Lead, Head of Care, Deputy Manager and now Registered Care Home Manager of Cedar Lodge.

Nenita’s hard-working nature and open-door policy gains respect from her staff, gives relatives peace of mind and enhances the lives of residents. She naturally leads her team by example in offering exemplary person-centered care to her service users, which her workforce reflects. in 2019, Nenita was selected as winner of the Frontline Leader of the Year at the Surrey Care Awards. And in 2021, she has been selected as one of five Finalists at the National Care Awards for Care Home Manager of the Year.

Jayne Barker - Home Administrator

Jayne started working with us at Cedar Lodge in 2014 and has quickly become part of the team and is equally committed to ensuring each and every resident is happy and well looked after. Jayne is a passionate member of the team who is proud to work at Cedar Lodge.

As Administrator, Jayne is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functioning of the home and supporting Nenita to ensure everything happens as it should. This involves a variety of tasks such as employment checks, enquiry handling, show rounds and admissions, to being a point of contact for residents and relatives while dealing with their day-to-day requests.

Florisa Molera - Head of Care

Florisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has built up 17 years of experience working in the UK as a nurse in a variety of medical settings. Florisa has now been working at Cedar Lodge for 13 years and is our compassionate and dedicated Head of Care.

With an extensive background in nursing, Florisa is responsible for managing the clinical care of the residents in the home. This involves supervising the Nurses, Senior Carers and Carers to ensure residents receive person-centred care in accordance with their assessed needs and plans of care, along with focusing on their mental, physical and emotional well-being.

Nursing Team

Our dedicated and experienced nursing team is responsible for managing the clinical care of our residents at Cedar Lodge focusing on their holistic care, which includes their mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

This involves administering medication, working with our home GP and supporting senior carers and carers to ensure residents receive person-centered care in accordance with their assessed needs and plans of care.

Care Team

Surrey Care Awards 2019 Care Team of the YearOur care team is built of over 40 Care Assistants and Senior Carers who work hard to assist residents with their immediate needs.

Carers and Senior Carers are an important team that undertake a variety of training, giving them the confidence and skill set to provide exemplary care to our residents.

Activities Team

The Activities Team work tirelessly to deliver a fun, varied and engaging weekly schedule of therapeutic group, individual and one-to-one activities adapted according to the daily wishes of residents. Activity Leader, Wendy Watmore has shown great devotion to Cedar Lodge, as she celebrates her 30th work anniversary this year! One resident commented “Every night I go to sleep and say a prayer for how grateful I am to have Wendy in my life”.

As members of NAPA (a leading activity and engagement charity), the team continuously prioritise wellbeing with meaningful activities such as birthday and anniversary tea parties, pampering and shopping days, cookery workshops with our award-winning Chef,  Pets as Therapy, and farm animal visits, along with a variety of themed events and cultural days. The team spend quality time with individual residents listening to and understanding their wishes.

Bhanu Morampudi - Head Chef

Bhanu has been working as a professional Chef for over 10 years and has been selected as the winner in the Care Chef category at the UK 2021 National Care Awards.

For 4 years, Bhanu has worked at Cedar Lodge as our talented and passionate Head Chef. He works hard to develop a menu that is appealing to residents while focusing on their nutritional and dietary needs.

Bhanu brings his strong creative flair to work every day, presenting his food in artistic ways and making sure there is a strong colour balance on the plate. Cooking with seasonal fresh foods is important to Bhanu, who is passionate about caring for our residents through his meals. Every month Bhanu hosts alive cooking show for residents, “whipping up” their favourite dishes and providing a multi-sensory experience.

Domestic Team

Every team is integral to the running of our care home. We are fortunate to have a team of hard-working and compassionate individuals in housekeeping, which comprise of domestic and laundry. Not only do they help with the smooth running of the home, but they also contribute to the social and hospitality experience our residents enjoy.

David Fielding - Maintenance Manager

David is our multi-award winning Handyman who works very hard fixing things and making sure our home runs smoothly. David will fulfil residents’ impromptu requests to ensure they are happy and is a wonderful support to the home, often participating in special activities. David won the ‘Overall Winner’ award at the Care Home Heroes Awards 2023 organised by Caring Times and also won the award for ‘Unsung Hero’ at the Surrey Care Awards 2022. The panel noted the great lengths David goes to beyond his job remit, supporting residents and regularly taking them to hospital appointments and shopping, making a lightweight board for a resident to continue her artwork and fixing a precious broken grandfather clock which brought much joy to the owners. David comments: “Receiving this award was a wonderful surprise, I feel so proud, but I accept this award on behalf of everyone at Cedar Lodge who all really care about what they do.”

Andrew May - Groundsman

Andy is our talented groundsman who continues to work very hard in making our outdoor spaces into enjoyable surroundings.

From maintaining our wild flowers, feeding the birds in the aviary and building new features in our gardens for our residents to explore, Andy constantly brings new ideas to the outdoor spaces of the home.

Every month we celebrate the hard work of our team by choosing an Employee of the Month. Residents, relatives and employees can all nominate individuals.

CQC Rating

Forest Care is delighted to announce the CQC has rated Cedar Lodge ‘Good’ on its most recent inspection. The home has been rated Good across all areas, meaning the service they provide is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. A great achievement for all the team at Cedar Lodge in Frimley Green.

Years of Service Party

We celebrated our staff and their 5, 10, 15 and 25 years of service during our 31st Anniversary celebrations. Although we couldn’t host the party we normally would because of lockdown restrictions, we still managed to celebrate in style!
