Kitchen Assistant

Kitchen Assistant (40 hrs)

Based at Holly Lodge, St Catherine’s Road, Frimley Green, Camberley, Surrey GU16 9NP - a beautiful and modern, newly refurbished care home with a CQC rating of “good” in all five areas.

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our motivated and happy team!

Starting salary £9.20 per hour. This position is for 40 hours per week, working 9am-7pm to include weekends. weekends.

Main Duties of our Kitchen Assistants; 

  • To prepare food and cook in a hygienic manner.
  • To be aware of the residents’ dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
  • To hold a suitable food and hygiene certificate.
  • To dispose of waste correctly.
  • To ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable goods.
  • To contribute in the serving of food.
  • To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.

Skills and Experience of our Kitchen Assistants;

  • Previous experience working within a kitchen environment
  • High level of written and spoken English

Please note - with effect from 16th Nov, it is a legal requirement that we only employ people in our care homes who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Evidence of vaccination needs to be demonstrated by way of the NHS app. All applicants who are not yet vaccinated must have had their first vaccine dose on or before 16th Sep in order to comply with the 16th Nov deadline. We regret we cannot proceed with your application otherwise.

We are looking for a reliable, caring Activity Co-ordinator who wants to make a difference by contributing to providing the best care possible at all times.

Main Duties of our Activity Co-ordinator;

  • Plan and organise programmes of individual and group activities
  • Be responsible for the appropriate use of the home’s activities budget.
  • Review and evaluate the activities programme so that it is kept up to date and fit for purpose.
  • Work closely with residents, staff and others involved in the organising and the running of events.
  • To undertake any other duties as required by line management

Skills and Experience of our Activity Co-ordinator;

  • Previous experience of organising events and activities within a care home setting (not essential, as training is provided)
  • Good organisational skills
  • A moderate level of computer literacy
  • High level of written and spoken English

The home has been rated Good across all areas, meaning the service they provide is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. A great achievement for all the team at Holly Lodge in Frimley Green.

Years of Service Party

We celebrated our staff and their 5, 10 and 15 years of service by handing out certificates and gifts to each of our long serving staff members. We proudly have a high number of long serving staff at Holly Lodge, which positively impacts on the continuity of care given to our residents.
