Activities

Our activities team prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences for our residents living with dementia. This includes activities tailored for residents who are less mobile and able. Activities are multi-sensory, designed to alleviate dementia symptoms and help to improve concentration and communication, and encourage reminiscence and social interaction.

Our activities at our Surrey care home are planned around each person living with dementia in accordance with their care needs, their daily wishes and cultural interests and supported by their life-stories in line with Holly Lodge’s ethos of a person-centred approach to care. We involve families in care and activity planning to gain a personal understanding of what really matters to each resident and learn about their favourite pastimes and hobbies so we can tailor activities to suit their preferences.

Hear from our Residents

A few words from Rico Bustamante, our Home Manager

Choosing a care home can be a difficult and emotional process and we understand the impact of a dementia diagnosis on residents and their families. We aim to make it a little easier by providing exceptional care in a happy and homely environment using contemporary design to create both calming and stimulating environments for people living with dementia.

Specialist dementia care can help to meet the needs of people living with dementia as their condition progresses and ease the distress for those who have been caring for them. We involve families in care planning to ensure each resident has an individual care plan that meets all their medical, physical, emotional and social needs, and we work closely with families to ensure that the move for their loved one is a smooth and positive one. Our open visiting policy means family and friends are welcome at any time.
