Activities

Our dedicated activities team prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences. This includes activities tailored for residents who are less mobile and able. Activities are adapted to the daily wishes of residents, their cultural interests, and supported by life-story work in line with Rowan Lodge’s ethos of a person-centred approach to care.

We involve families in care and activity planning to gain a personal understanding of what really matters to each resident and learn about their favourite pastimes and hobbies so we can tailor activities to suit their preferences. We encourage social interaction and friendship, and support residents with their individual choices.

A few words from Dan Binney, our Home Manager

Choosing a care home can be a difficult and emotional process, so we aim to make it a little easier by providing exceptional care in a happy and homely environment. We involve families in care planning to ensure each resident has an individual care plan that meets all their medical, physical, emotional and social needs, and we work closely with families to ensure that the move for their loved one is a smooth and positive one. Our open visiting policy means family and friends are welcome at any time.

Care Home News

Celebrating Long Service at Rowan Lodge

We value the commitment of our long-serving team members and take pride in recognising their years of dedication to our care homes each year. Congratulations to Pamela Peters – Senior Care Assistant and Natasha Rozak – Care Supervisor who both celebrate 10 years at Rowan Lodge, and Chef Valentina Nagy who celebrates 5 years. Thank you for your continued dedication and the positive impact you make every day at Rowan Lodge!

Rowan Lodge's Classic Car Event!

Our residents and families enjoyed a wonderful visit from classic cars from local groups who came together at Rowan. Children enjoyed sitting on the vintage Massey Ferguson and listening to the siren of the old police car arriving. There was a delicious BBQ plus tombola, raffle, face painting and singing from a local performer Nina Ayling.

Celebrating Carers Week!

Rowan Lodge came together to celebrate everyone who plays a part in caring for residents. Home Manager Dan shared the importance of a whole-home approach: “Care isn’t just about the personal side. Nutrition, the home environment and all departments at Rowan Lodge play a vital role in delivering person-centred care.” Smiles, laughter and heartfelt thanks were shared all around, with food and gifts kept aside for our amazing night staff. A big thank you to every team member who helps make Rowan Lodge a special place!
